The Offer
Unquestionably, the “offer” is critical to a successful outcome to any email marketing campaign… It is vital to make your offer understandable... Be unmistakable about what your offer is and be clear in communicating it to the recipients of your email…
At the core of it, your offer conveys what you are going to give them and what are they going to give you..? In the most fundamental kind of offer, you provide the recipient a product or service and in exchange they give you money...
You can make an offer more compelling by presenting the recipients a better deal, "Save $100" for instance, or an "Exclusive Offer” only available to recipients of your email such as “Buy one, get one free” or “Not available in stores” to cite a few examples…
Your offer does not have to involve the exchange of money... Your offer could be a “free gift” or other item of value that allows the recipient to download free software game or program, a “how to” tips on a specific topic or something else that may be of interest to the recipient… In order to receive the offer the recipients much provide personal or business marketing data, complete a survey or in some way provide something that you want in exchange for the offer…
Your offer could a free newsletter where the recipients do not have to give anything in return (except an email address); it's enough for them to let you into their inbox on a regular bases… The key here is that the content of the newsletter be relevant to what you say it will be or it, and your message, will be rejected and any future newsletter emails will be deleted without even being looked at…
